Indonesia Books Rp1,010.6 Trillion in Realized Investment in H1 2026, Up 7.2%

According to IQPlus, as carried by BCA Sekuritas, the Ministry of Investment and Downstream Industry/BKPM recorded Rp1,010.6 trillion in realized investment in the first half of 2026, up 7.2% year on year and equal to 49.5% of the Rp2,041.3 trillion target for the year. The second quarter alone contributed Rp511.8 trillion, up 7.1%.

Foreign direct investment came to Rp257.7 trillion in the second quarter (50.4%), against Rp254.1 trillion of domestic investment (49.6%). Hong Kong led with around USD5 billion, with mainland China, Singapore, Japan and Malaysia also among the leaders. The top five origins accounted for 79.6% of all FDI.

Regions outside Java attracted Rp256.5 trillion (50.1%), slightly ahead of Java at Rp255.3 trillion. Jakarta, West Java, North Maluku, East Java and Central Sulawesi were the five largest destinations.

By sector, basic metals and metal products, other services, mining, transportation, warehousing and telecommunications, and property and industrial estates led the way. Downstream industries drew Rp300.1 trillion in the first half, or 29.7% of the total, concentrated in bauxite, nickel, copper, steel and silica sand.

Investment absorbed 1,448,862 workers in the first half, a 15% increase. Minister Rosan P. Roeslani said the result shows that investor confidence in Indonesia's economy remains intact.
