Indonesia's Stock Index and Market Cap Hit Records as Foreign Investors Buy Rp7.3 Trillion
Investortrust reports that the Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) rose for four straight sessions in the third week of January 2026, gaining 1.55% over the week from 8,936 to an all-time high of 9,075.
Total market capitalization on the Indonesia Stock Exchange rose 1.29% to a record Rp16,512 trillion, while average daily transaction value increased 3.87% to Rp32.68 trillion.
Foreign investors were an important driver, with year-to-date net purchases of Rp7.30 trillion. The most heavily bought stocks included Astra International (ASII, Rp1.13 trillion), Aneka Tambang (ANTM, Rp1.09 trillion), Vale Indonesia (INCO), Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BBRI) and Petrosea (PTRO).
Metals and mining names feature prominently among the top foreign purchases, in step with Indonesia's ongoing push into resource downstreaming and a sign of international interest in the market.
